The London Minor Ball Hockey Association was formed in late 2008 by four ball hockey enthusiasts.
The intentions were to offer an opportunity to youth within the City of London no matter their age, sex, skill level or economic status a chance to play the game of ball hockey in an organized capacity.
Since there was not a program in place for youth that offered this sport already, the group wanted to make sure that its first season made a true impression of the game of ball hockey to all of its participants and parents.
This included proper marketing and advertising campaigns, a website with online standings and statistics, using certified officials, customized jerseys/shirts, a year end banquet with individual and team awards, and most importantly reaching into the community for volunteer coaches and local sponsorship.
It was truly believed that if these things could be accomplished, the LMBHA could really help grow the sport and offer this great game to so many within the London area.
The first season came and went and although there were a few minor issues, the LMBHA believes that it was a success. Not only did the LMBHA receive great feedback from its participants and their parents, the LMBHA was awarded with hosting the 2010 OBHA Youth Provincial Championships. This has to be recognized as a great accomplishment considering it was London’s first year with an organized youth league.
That being said, as happy as the LMBHA was to hear this, it could not have happened without all of our participants, parents/guardians, coaches/assistants, referees/timekeepers and local sponsors.
It is our goal to continue to improve the league every year and grow it into something special. Looking at various leagues in the Province of Ontario, there is no reason why the LMBHA can not reach 1000 participants in the very near future. As we have said in the past, we are 100% dedicated to making this happen and continue to ask for your support in this. That simply means, continue to have fun and learn this great game. Tell your friends and family members and don’t be afraid to tell us if you have an idea, question or concern.
We stand by our tagline: Ball Hockey, A Game For Everyone
Please remember that. As this league grows, so will its participants and the skill level that comes with it. We all can put London on the map as a Ball Hockey power house.
The LMBHA is excited for the year ahead and wishes everyone good luck! Play Safe and Play Fair.
Thank you

Rick Price
Rick took over a men’s league now known as the London Ball Hockey Association in 2008. This particular league can be taken back to the mid 1970’s and has gone through various changes including management but it had reached a point that it needed a new face.
Rick, having played in the league for over 12 years jumped at the opportunity and has been able to grow the league from 17 teams to just over 50 in that above mentioned time frame. The league now has 2 official seasons (Summer & Winter) as well as an All Star Game and year end banquet, trophies and awards.
Rick has ensured fair play, certified officials and has brought an open door approach when it comes to growing the sport within the City of London. Rick was recently recognized and awarded by the Ontario Ball Hockey Association as Governor of the Year for the entire Province of Ontario.
Rick currently plays in the Men’s Tier 1 Division on the Outpatients, Men's Tier 2 Division on the Huskies and Men's Tier 3 division on the Master Outpatients.
When Rick is not at a ball hockey game you can find him at his full time job as a cook at the London Convention Centre, or spending time with his family. Rick has 2 beautiful daughters, one of which is active in the LMBHA and his youngest is sure to be once she has reached the required age.

Jason Power
Jason is originally from Sarnia, Ontario and moved to London in the mid 1990's with his family. Jason never officially played the game of ball hockey prior to 2009 but had always loved the game of hockey and as is the case for so many children in Canada grew up playing road hockey and watching is favorite NHL team (Detroit Red Wings) on TV.
Jason first brought the idea of a youth league to Rick when he first took over the LBHA back in the summer of 2008. At that time Rick had wanted to concentrate on the adult league before moving towards something new, in the fall of 2008 and after a successful adult season, Rick and Jason discussed the youth league one more time but felt they were a couple solid partners away from making it happen. This is when Joe and Tom came into the picture and things quickly evolved from there.
Jason has worked as a time keeper for the LBHA since 2008 and has been a strong and valued supporting figure for Rick with the LBHA since he has taken over the presidency. Jason jumped into the sport on a playing level during the summer of 2009 when he entered his own team to the LBHA.
Jason and Rick have known each other about 15 years but have been pretty close for the last ten. When Jason is not time keeping, playing or helping out at one of the local arena's he can be found working over nights at Wal-Mart or spending time with his family that includes 4 adorable young girls.
